This application must serve as the sole point of information exchange between the consultant and the IT services company (ESN). The goal is to provide better service to consultants and centralize information in one place. This will streamline business processes, save time, and optimize company resources.
A technical team, a Product Owner, a Scrum Master, and a team of three graphic designers under my direction were mobilized for the project.
To successfully complete this project, after gathering a general vision from the business staff, our team turned to the Scrum methodology for project development.
The project vision was defined following interviews with the business team and the consultants (users) involved.
This vision was then broken down into several User Stories and prioritized according to the MoSCoW analysis.
At this point, I joined the project to support our UX designer.
The prioritized User Stories allowed us to create a general forecast backlog.
The Scrum Master and Product Owner then broke this down into several 2-week sprints.
Each sprint is divided into two parts: Sprint Design followed by Sprint Development.
The 2-week design sprint began with a benchmark of expected features, followed by a user navigation flowchart, zoning on Whimsical, wireframes and mockups on Figma, and testing the mockup with the business team.
I was responsible for the quality of the mockups provided by the team as well as all technical documentation.
Each sprint presented version 1.x of the application. Due to financial difficulties, the platform’s development unfortunately stopped at version 1.8.
However, our tool has already proven its worth: the company’s financial resources and daily business workload have been significantly optimized.
To save time, our technical team started with the Element UI component library using Vue.js.
The design team’s first task was to build this library in Figma to work on these elements.
Starting from version 1.3, we abandoned the pre-built library and collaborated with the technical team to develop our own custom UI component system.
We utilized 7,913 elements on Whimsical to create our user stories, flowcharts, mind maps, wireframes, tables, etc., to establish the foundation of our project and ensure a strong start.
We worked on more than a dozen Figma pages and quickly realized that the workspace has its limits in terms of space, which can sometimes feel cramped.
We participated in over 8 Agile sprints, and the design team resolved more than 200 problem cards and user stories. I was responsible for the creation, naming, and validation of each of these cards.
By implementing this internal tool, we reduced subscription costs by €7,200 annually and freed up approximately 30% of the administrative staff’s working time, leading to substantial financial savings and increased productivity.
